TP Mechanical honored for excellence in safety and community service

Cincinnati, OH (April 23, 2015) – TP Mechanical was honored with three awards at the Ohio Valley Associated Builders and Contractors (OVBC) Excellence in Construction Awards. The awards ceremony was held on April 16 and recognizes companies that seek to raise the level of construction standards throughout the industry.

The Cincinnati-based company received the Step Diamond Award for Safety Excellence and the 2015 Safety Award, Step Level V (500,001 + Total work hours). The team at TP Mechanical was also honored to receive the Community Service and Outreach Award.

The Ohio Valley ABC Community Service and Outreach Award was created to recognize the efforts of member companies who engage their employees through community service and outreach.

“We’ve created a company culture here at TP Mechanical that views community service not just as an obligation, but as a way of life,” said Tara Teepe, marketing coordinator at TP Mechanical.  “We are very proud of this award. The commitment, time, and effort that each and every employee has displayed shows the type of culture we strive for at TP Mechanical.”

The company’s community service efforts include a semi-annual Gala event with the proceeds going to a local charity in one of the communities it serves. The 2015 Gala, a Monte Carlo Night in Lexington, Ky., benefitted the Ronald McDonald Charities of the Bluegrass. The company also hosts annual toy drives to benefit St. Joseph Orphanage and Blood Drives.

In addition to these events, the contractor also organizes participation in annual walks and events, such as the Light the Night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the Heart Mini Marathon and the Messer Construction Heart Walk. In 2014, the company earned the ABC Safety Employee of the Year Award, the ABC/OSHA Step Platinum Level Safety Achievement Award, the ABC Step Platinum Award and the BX Ohio Safety Award.
