One of Cincinnati’s largest private companies is handing over the reins to a new CEO, the first non-family member to run the company.
TP Mechanical Contractors has named Bill Riddle as its new president and CEO, taking over for Scott Teepe Sr., who will become chairman of the company’s board and remain as an adviser.
Riddle is the first non-Teepe to hold the CEO job since Bill Teepe started the company in 1953. Leadership was passed on to his sons, first Steve Teepe and then Scott Sr. The company Bill Teepe founded was acquired by AMPAM in 1999, but Scott Teepe Sr. purchased the company back along with his employees in 2003.
Riddle has spent more than 30 years with TP Mechanical, beginning his career there as an apprentice plumber in 1985. He rose through the ranks to become a project manager and superintendent before becoming vice president of commercial construction and then being named president in 2011.
