Job Description
The Production Plumber is responsible for daily work in the Fabrication Shop, including on-time start of work. Work includes assembly of fixtures, carriers, hangers, and light soldering. Applicant should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons in the Fabrication Shop, including all TP Mechanical personnel, and represent TP Mechanical in a professional manner.
Responsibilities for this position also include:
- Manage materials to ensure timely completion of the work scheduled. Ensures optimal material consumption.
- Strengthens skills to encourage improvement in other plumbers or fitters. Emphasizes commitment to continually improve company procedures and processes by the use and development of measurements, analysis and subsequent changes to procedures in the best interests of the company.
- Focuses on safety and safety practices first and foremost during all task assignments.
- Ensures the quality and profitability of each project by eliminating waste in materials and labor whenever possible.
- Serves as a coach by monitoring lower echelon mechanic and helper production and quality workmanship. Continually provides training in areas needing improvements to ensure quality, production and safety.

Job Requirements
Experience/Qualifications Required
- Minimum 4 years prior construction or plumbing experience
- Experience with PVC, Copper, Steel Pipe, and Fixture Carriers preferred
- Stable work history
- Able to use basic tools (hammer, tape measure, etc.)
- Honest, reliable, dependable and display good character
Education
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Journeyman Plumbing License preferred
- Med Gas Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Eyesight correctable to 20/50
- Able to stand for long hours
- Lift items weighing up to 60lbs
- Must not be afraid of heights
Special Requirements
- Must provide their own basic hand tools.
