2015 TP Mechanical Blood Drive

Be a Lifesaver!

Be a part of our Annual Blood Drive – Help us save lives!

Columbus – April 14, 2015

Cincinnati – April 16, 2015

Lexington – TBD

We started having blood drives in honor of Ed Hagins, TP Mechanical’s former insurance broker and bonding agent who passed away in December 2009, from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  Ed lived cancer free for ten years after receiving a year of radiation, chemotherapy, and autologous stem cell transplantation.  In April 2009, after a routine annual examination it was determined that he needed another stem cell transplant; this time it had to be an allogeneic transplant from an outside donor.  As it worked out his sister, Mary Katherine tested to be a match and Ed had the transplant in July, 2009.  After his transplant and until his death in December, 2009, Ed had blood transfusions every week at the bone marrow transplant unit at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood.

We are asking everyone to participate. There will be prizes and a raffle for anyone who attempts to donate, but the real prize is saving lives.  It takes over 400 volunteer donors each day to meet the demands of patients needing blood in the Cincinnati tri-state hospitals alone.

We are trying to make the process as easy as possible. There will be a mobile unit at the Cincinnati, Columbus and Lexington offices.
